trying for an alley party (failed)

another soggy weekend- and anohter attempt to open up the alley. i did the pretty little pastel in the studio when i was throwing a pity party for myself a month or two ago. i've been thinking a lot about what sowon's father told her (as she said in her lecture at vermont)- when you are stuck, learn a language. after spening time with cherith on friday and talking to another painter about it all- i was struck with the profundity of it. painting is a language. and i want to be fluent withit. i think that most people don't know how ro do not want to learn the language- so it's very difficult for them to speak. so they talk about content or subject, or other media. but what about painting as a language? those who are fluent are rare. but i'm lucky to have a few friends who can speak it well.
