burkes

i posted a blog about burkes in my first month of living in lowell. i loved everything about it- the sign, sally, the musty smell, the four florrs of old "new" merchandies, the hidden-away secret of it. oh- and all the "fay's closet" brang blazers, seersucker, etc. i said goodbye to burkes offcially at my alst shopping trip this week. here i've posted an image i took when sally reluctantly let me up onto the second florr in 2002. so i was taking spy pictures afraid she'd see me.
